[ARCHIVED] Color Our World - Summer Reading Program for All Ages

Color Our World Summer Reading Program (All Ages) - June 2 - August 2

When the bell rings signaling the end of the school year, students of all ages can’t afford to take long breaks from reading. Studies show that youth that don’t read over the summer, especially reluctant or struggling readers, lose important ground. One of the best places for children to become comfortable with reading is your local library.

Beginning June 2 through August 2, we invite readers of all ages to join this year’s Color Our World summer reading program to prevent the summer reading slide. Logging your reading time is simple, using Beanstack. More information about the programs can be found on our Reading Programs page.

Our Summer Reading Kick-Off Party is set for Tuesday, June 2, from 3:00 to 4:30 PM. Terrific Tuesdays for children featuring a special performer weekly, kicks off on June 3 and continues through July 29. Monday Fundays for ages 4-8 are offered at 2:00 PM and story times for all ages continue throughout the summer.

We invite you to cool off this summer in our Children’s Wing to enjoy our new enhancements including a puppet theater, Reading Nook Tree and train table, along with our expanded educational toys in the Imaginative Play Area. Visit our events calendar for all our children's, tween, and teen programs or pick up a calendar at the youth desk.

Since we don’t think kids should have all the fun, adults too can join our art inspired summer reading program and be eligible for great prizes by tracking their reading in Beanstack. We have a full slate of programs for adults as well, with each week representing a color of the rainbow! Re(a)d Week kicks off with an informational CPR Class on Thursday, June 12 at 6:30pm and our Friends of the Library Book Sale on Saturday, June 14 from 9am-3pm. View our events calendar for full program information.

You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated about our programs.

We invite you to kick back and cool off this summer at the library with a new book!
