Safety Harbor's Teen Leaders program offers teens the chance to learn leadership, professionalism and communication skills while assisting instructors, staff and counselors. Designed for those entering 9th-12th grades and working toward their Bright Futures hours. Part-Time Teen Leaders will help with our specialty part-day camps throughout the summer. Shifts will range from 1.5 to 6 hours in the morning, afternoon and evening, depending on selected camps. Teens can select camps based on their availability, vacation schedule and hours needed for Bright Futures. Mandatory orientation is held on May 5th or 26th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
oot camp is a challenging, fun, and supportive workout! If you are new to exercise or just getting back into it,
that’s ok. You can go at your own pace and work your way
up. The boot camp workout consists of cardio conditioning, strength training, and stretching. Every class is different, so no two boot camp sessions are the same.

he City of Safety Harbor Recreation Department welcomes you to another exciting summer of camp!
We dedicate ourselves to choosing outstanding sta to provide the best summer camp experience for
your child. Campers will have an active and fun-lled day, so be sure to send them with a healthy lunch,
afternoon snack, and a labeled rellable water bottle. Camp fees include eld trips, themed activities,
games, arts and crafts, swim days, and educationally fun projects. Masks are required for campers in
vehicles when transporting to eld trips and swim days. Masks are recommended, but not required
throughout the day. Campers will remain with their designated age group during structured camp
hours of 9am-4pm. During before care, outdoor lunch, and after care, groups will be combined.
Getting Started Camp
Ages: Must be age 5 & entering
Kindergarten prior to starting a
This exciting outdoor camp, taught by an
ACA certified instructor, introduces safe and
proper use of the kayak and equipment.
Camp will travel and launch from a different
park every day. Advanced kayaking experience necessary. All equipment is provided.
Campers must be able to swim. Locations
will vary and subject to change due to
weather, winds, and tides. The instructional approach used in this program follows
American National Standards for on-water,
skills-based instruction in entry-level recreational boat operation that were developed by the National On-Water Standards

Coach D’s All-Sports Camp will include
Capture the Flag, dodgeball, soccer,
kickball, and wiffleball. All equipment is
provided. Be sure to bring a lunch and lots
This strength training class will help you improve your
flexibility, balance, core and back which will make your
everyday activities easier. Get the workout you need,
and most importantly, have fun while doing it!

out to the skate park for some summer fun. You can learn how to ollie,

test you, but more importantly, you
will have fun! Activities will include
swimming, kayaking, beach runs,
fitness training, and much more!

This camp will be geared toward
teaching the fundamentals of basketball at the beginner/intermediate level.
Campers will have hands-on learning
during ball handling, shooting, and
proper footwork drills. 3 on 3 games
will be played and will focus on different
aspects of basketball taught throughout
the camp week. The focus of this camp
is to improve skills, learn the game, and

Interested in learning more about plants
and our ecosystem? We will look at different plants, everything from herbs, native
plants to florals. Nature scavenger hunts,
recycled garden container projects, and
more! Bring your own garden gloves,
water bottle and sunscreen.
Want to become a magician? Develop skills
in the art of magic and perform magic with
everyday objects. On the last day, campers
will perform a magic show of what they
have learned for family and friends.

practiced to become a master magician!
Build and explore the world of
Pokemon as they create their own
gyms, battles, and even their own
generation of Pokemon. Have a blast
becoming the best Pokemon trainer
Have your kids experience the exciting
sport of tennis this summer with one of our
weekly summer tennis camps. The camp
will be filled with organized activities focusing on fun, development, and sportsmanship. Friday is designated as our Rainout
day. Please have a 23” - 25’’ racquet.
Let your little tyke paint their heart out! Best of all, we clean
up! Wear your smock and be prepared to create a mini masterpiece! This is a drop-in class. Come and go as you please!
Ages 6Mo - 5
Nature journaling helps all of us pay attention to our surroundings, increases our attention to detail and encourages us to
expand our vocabulary. It also forces us to slow down, something
most of us need to do more often! All you need is a good dose
of curiosity and a willingness to draw or write what you see and
feel. No artistic skill required. This program is an excellent way
to develop your awareness and appreciation of the earth. THIS
PROGRAM MEETS EVERY OTHER WEEK
Ready to play some football?
The drills taught at this camp will
improve your game in a fun and
safe environment with motivating
and positive coaching. Emphasis
will be on proper conditioning,
warm-ups, footwork drills, agility,
passing, receiving, and game
Let’s Bowl the afternoon away! It’s interactive bowling on the
big screen, all without the heavy ball and funny shoes. This
game is perfect for active adults and those with limited mobility. We eat lunch together every Wednesday so bring your
appetite with you!
This camp will be fast moving skill work
geared toward advanced players who are
looking to improve their game. With primary focus on game-like situation drills,
players will increase their basketball
IQ and learn the “whys” behind many
basketball moves. 1 on 1, 3 on 3, and 5
on 5 drills will be played, with the focus
on competing at a high level and using
the situational drills in real time game
situations. Anyone looking to improve
their skills while being challenged will
love this camp.

“Fractured Fairy Tales,” campers
will develop performance skills

character development, improvisation, vocal work and choreography.

classic fairy tales. On the last day of
camp, campers will perform what they

animal inspired robotic models. Learn
about gear ratio, sensors, simple
machines, and programming as we
build insects, dolphins, gorillas, and

building, learning, and playing.
Join us for a fun game filled week of “Do it
Yourself” Camp. Create your very own lifesized carnival games and board games from
game pieces, dice, and the board itself!
Join this fun beginner workshop series introducing the fundamentals of yoga. This small group setting will meet weekly
for four consecutive sessions outdoors at Folly Farm Gazebo
to explore what yoga is all about. Learn/experience the
fundamentals of a basic, gentle yoga practice. Explore yoga’s
many health benefits for the body and mind like: increased
strength, balance, and flexibility, and cultivate peacefulness
of mind/reduce stress. Allow yourself the experience of trying something new that may ignite or enhance your overall
health and wellness.
Yoga uses breathing techniques, exercise, and meditation. It
helps to improve health and happiness. Meet us on Wednesday nights at Rigsby for this alignment-based, fun, community focused class. All levels welcome.
