October 2023 Newsletter

Welcome to October! We're excited about the great programs and events we have planned and hope to see you at the library soon!

Youth (Ages 0-18) - Youth Fall Reading for ages 5 - 18 continues - read 12 hours, earn prizes, and be entered into a grand prize raffle! Register at safetyharborlibrary.beanstack.org. Join us for a special Firefighter Story Time with special guests from the Safety Harbor Fire Department on October 4, decorate your own little gourd during Kids' Paint a Mini Pumpkin on October 23, and wear your costume to the library for our Preschool Halloween Story Party on October 25. Our annual Tween Halloween Cupcake Wars return on October 17, Tween Paint a Mini Pumpkin takes place on October 24, and Saturday Morning Cartoons debuts on October 28, with cereal! Writer, beware, you're in for a scare with our Teen Short Scary Story Contest, open for submissions from October 1-31, then enjoy a sweet treat during Teen Cooking - Caramel Apples on October 11. Watch a movie in a new way with a Family Interactive Hocus Pocus Take Home Kit, available for pick up October 2 - 7.

Adults - Let Freedom Read during our Community Read-Out on October 5, get inspired to do some Vegetarian Cooking with Chef Warren on October 12, carve out some grown-up fun during Pumpkin Carving on October 26, and enjoy a nice evening of Jazz on the Waterfront on October 27. The Saturday Movie Matinee this month is Get Out (R, 2017) starring Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, and Bradley Whitford on October 21.
