Neighborhood Grants
Two grants are available to homeowner associations to enhance their neighborhood common areas. The next deadline to apply will be April 14, 2023. After this date, the applications will be reviewed by the City and letters will be mailed out. After being notified of grant approval by the City, associations may install the improvements. All projects are subject to applicable codes and permitting requirements. Grant recipients submit documentation once the work is done. Reimbursement checks are then mailed out.
Applications may be dropped off or mailed to City Hall, Community Development, 750 Main Street, Safety Harbor, FL 34695. All documentation listed in the application is required. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Neighborhood Project Grants
Eligible projects include physical improvements such as entryway signs, fencing, walkways, fountains and lighting in a common area or neighborhood entryway. Reimbursement is available for the full cost of the project up to a maximum of $5,000. Lighting should be designed and installed with energy saving fixtures. Maintenance costs are not eligible.
Beautification Matching Grants
Eligible projects include landscaping and irrigation in a common area or neighborhood entryway. Irrigation systems must be low flow (soaker hoses, or drip irrigation) and landscaping may not obstruct motorist sight distances. Landscaping should be Florida Friendly.
