Do you love to draw or sketch, but want to learn more about value, tone, textures, light, and perspective? In this beginner to intermediate class, students will learn how to advance their skills with guidance from local artist Alice Anderson. Make sure to bring your drawing pencils, colored pencils, pastels or charcoals, and drawing pad to each class.

Intro to color drawing with chalk pastels. Students will learn from direct observation in the Safety Harbor Museum and surrounding landscapes. Supplies needed: set of prismacolor NuPastels 12-count and 18 inch by 24 inch pad of drawing paper.

Creating a beautiful arrangement of flowers is one of the nicest things you can do for yourself or for a friend. With a little knowledge, you can do it too! In Floral Design Basics, you will learn the fundamentals of floral arranging and common techniques while creating a masterpiece you can take home. Feel free to bring your favorite spritzer and refreshments! Make sure to print out or pick up your floral supply list for class.

Ready to learn to garden? Kids will get hands-on experience by planting seeds for butterfly attracting flowers and seasonal vegetables. We will paint flower pots and make planters from upcycled materials.

The project may be on any scientific application. It is up to you and your child. Choose a scientific question he or she would like to answer, research it, formulate a hypothesis, and design an experiment. Bring a written report to summarize the research, an example of the experiment, and present the results using a display board or some other suitable method. Please register by 10/8; $1 per person attending.
