Youth Programs for October 19-25, 2019


Saturday, October 19-

  • LEGO League: (Ages 3-12) 12:00-4:00 pm. Bring your friends and join us for creative building with LEGOS.

Monday, October 21-

  • Story Tots: (Ages 19 months to 4 years) 10:30-11:15 am. Young ones will develop early literacy skills as they participate in an interactive story time.

Tuesday, October 22-

  •  Wee Discoveries: (Ages 5 and under) 11:00 am-12:30 pm. Participate in age-appropriate discovery stations that explore STEAM concepts. Adult participation required.
  • Teen Minute to Win It Challenge: (Grades 6-12) 4:45 pm. Drop by the Teen Zone and see if you can compete in this week’s challenge and win a prize.
  • Teen Language Construction Club: (Grades 7-12) 6:00-7:00 pm. Learn to make your own language.

Wednesday, October 23-

  • Story Tots: (Ages 19 months to 4 years) 10:30-11:15 am. Young ones will develop early literacy skills as they participate in an interactive story time.
  • Homework Help: (Grades 1-8)  3:00-6:00 pm. Teen volunteers assist students with their homework. There is no Homework Help on holidays or during school breaks. Homework help is only available when we have volunteers.
  • Teen Cute Clay Creations Workshop: (Grades 8-12) 5:30-6:30 pm.  Make a creation out of clay, led by a teen volunteer. Register at events.safetyharborlibrary.org

Thursday, October 24-

  • Teen Switch Day: (Grades 6-12)  5:00-6:30 pm. Play popular video games on the Nintendo Switch.

Friday, October 25-

  • Baby & Me Story Time: (Ages 18 months and under) 10:30-11:15 am. Enjoy time with your baby while you listen to stories, sing songs, and learn fingerplays, followed by a play session.
  • Advanced Math for the SAT Workshop: (Grades 9-12) 3:30-4:45 pm. This workshop is intended for advanced students who are aiming to score 650-800 in math. The workshop will focus on how to efficiently answer the most difficult math questions on the SAT. Students should have a strong background in Algebra I and II, geometry, and trigonometry. Recommended materials: pen, pencil, highlighter, notebook, and graphing calculator. Register at events.safetyharborlibrary.org
  • SAT Workshop: (Grades 9-12) 5:00-7:00 pm. What is a good SAT score? This workshop will help ambitious students set target scores and develop strategies needed to achieve their personal college goals. It will also offer an introduction to the core concepts and critical thinking skills tested on the SAT. Recommended materials: past PSAT or SAT scores, pen, pencil, highlighter, notebook, and graphing calculator. Register at events.safetyharborlibrary.org
