Upcoming Children's Programs for February 24 - March 2, 2018


Paws for Friendship: (Ages 8 and under) Saturday, February 24, 11:30 am. Improve your reading skills and earn a certificate and a sticker by reading a book to a trained therapy dog.

LEGO League: (Ages 3-12) Saturday, February 24, 12:00-4:00 pm. Bring your friends and join us for creative building with LEGOs.

Toddler Story Time: (Ages 18 months to 3 years) Monday, February 26, 10:30 am. Young ones will be introduced to language and literature as they listen to stories, sing songs, and do finger plays.

Homework Help: (Grades 1-8) Monday, February 26, 3:00-6:00 pm.  Bright Futures Scholarship students will be at the library to assist students who are struggling with their homework. There is no Homework Help during school breaks. Sign up at the Youth Services Desk when you arrive.

CoderDojo: (Ages 7-17) Monday, February 26, 5:30 pm. Learn how to code; develop websites, apps, and games; and explore technology in an informal and creative environment. This class is led by local software professionals. Please bring a laptop. CoderKids in grade 5 and under must also bring a participating parent. Online registration required at www.shcoderdojo.com.

Wee Discoveries: (Ages 5 and under) Tuesday, February 27, 11:00 am. Play with age-appropriate discovery stations designed to encourage creativity in learning with STEM goals in mind. Adult participation required.

Preschool Story Time: (Ages 2-5 years) Wednesday, February 28, 10:30 am. Preschoolers will develop listening and early literacy skills while participating in story time with books, songs, and dance.

Beginners’ Robotics for Homeschoolers: (Ages 10-17) Wednesday, February 28, 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Mentors and pre-qualified students work together on special robotics projects. Registration required.

Intermediate Robotics for Homeschoolers: (Ages 10-17) Wednesday, February 28, 1:00-3:00 pm. Mentors and pre-qualified students who have successfully completed our beginner program work together on special robotics projects. Registration required.

Paw-some Readers Program: (Ages 8 and under) Thursday, March 1, 3:30 pm. Practice your reading with specially trained therapy dog Oliver.

Youth Drama: (Grades 2-5) Thursday, March 1, 3:30-4:30 pm. Learn how drama builds confidence, community, cooperation, and teamwork while still being loads of fun. Kids are expected to attend each session, as the material builds. Registration required.

Beginners’ Robotics: (Ages 10-17) Thursday, March 1, 4:30-6:00 pm. Mentors and pre-qualified students work together on robotics projects. Kids must attend every week, beginning with the first class. Registration required.

Baby & Me
: (Ages 18 months and under) Friday, March 2, 10:00 am. Enjoy special time with your baby while you listen to stories, sing songs, and learn finger plays, followed by a play session.
