February is Library Lovers Month!

February marks the start of Black History Month, but it is also National Library Lovers Month! And what better way to celebrate these two holidays than visiting the Safety Harbor Public Library and picking up a book about Martin Luther King Jr or Harriet Tubman. Looking for great Library events? Read on for this month's offerings and contests. We hope to see you this month, Library Lovers!

New Exhibits in our City Galleries

Have you seen our new galleries this month? At the Library, we are featuring art by Alan Manning. Manning took up art after he was diagnosed with Alzheimers. All of the proceeds from his art sales go to benefit Alzheimer's research.

At City Hall, we have art from the Highwaymen, including RL Lewis, Mary Ann Carroll, Al Black, Willie Reagan and Rodney Demps.

At the Museum, along with our Bay Area Rock Art exhibit, we are featuring Herbert Scott Davis' one of a kind art that celebrates the rich culture of African Americans.

Artist Reception for Bay Area Rock Art Creators

On February 16 from 6-7:30pm at the Safety Harbor Museum we are holding a reception for the featured artists in our latest exhibit 'Bay Area Rock Art'. This art movement started with the idea in mind to make someone smile by painting, hiding & finding these unique rock art pieces. The reception is a chance to talk to the artists about their motivations and to learn how you can get involved.

Are you interested in making your own rock art masterpiece? We are holding a Make & Take Crafts class for parents and their children this Thursday, February 1st from 6-7pm for $5/person. Bring the whole family along on Tuesday, February 20th from 6-7pm for our Family Fun Night. It is sure to be a rockin' good time for all ages!
