Children's Programs: October 28 - November 3, 2017


Spooktacular Halloween Party: (Grades K-5) Saturday, October 28, 11:00 am. Join us for spooky fun! We’ll have crafts, games, snacks, and more. Dress up in your costume. 

LEGO League: (Ages 3-12) Saturday, October 28, 12:00-4:00 pm. Bring your friends and join us for creative building with LEGOs.

Preschool Halloween Story Time Party: (Ages 5 & under) Monday, October 30, 10:30 am. Join us for spooky stories, songs, games, snacks, a monster mash parade, and other fun activities. Come dressed in your Halloween costume!

Homework Help:  (Grades 1-8) Monday, October 30, 3:00-6:00 pm.  Bright Futures Scholarship students will be at the library to assist students who are struggling with their homework. There is no Homework Help during school breaks. Sign up at the Youth Services Desk when you arrive. 

CoderDojo: (Ages 7-17) Monday, October 30, 5:30 pm. Learn how to code; develop websites, apps, and games; and explore technology in an informal and creative environment. This class is led by local software professionals. Please bring a laptop. CoderKids in grade 5 and under must also bring a participating parent. Online registration required at www.shcoderdojo.com.

Preschool Story Time: (Ages 2-5 years) Wednesday, November 1, 10:30 am.  Preschoolers will develop listening and early literacy skills while participating in story time with books, songs, and dance.

Beginners’ Robotics for Homeschoolers: (Ages 10-17) Wednesday, November 1, 10:00 am-12:00 pm. Mentors and pre-qualified students work together on special robotics projects. This class is for pre-registered students.

Intermediate Robotics for Homeschoolers: (Ages 10-17) Wednesday, November 1, 1:00 - 3:00 pm. Mentors and pre-qualified students work together on special robotics projects. This class is for pre-registered students

Homework Help:  (Grades 1-8) Wednesday, November 1, 3:00-6:00 pm.  Bright Futures Scholarship students will be at the library to assist students who are struggling with their homework. There is no Homework Help during school breaks. Sign up at the Youth Services Desk when you arrive. 

Paw-some Readers Program:  Thursday, November 2, 3:30 pm. Practice your reading with specially trained therapy dog Oliver and receive a sticker and a special certificate.

Beginners’ Robotics: (Ages 10-17) Thursday, November, 2, 4:30-6:00 pm. Mentors and pre-qualified students work together on special robotics projects. This class is for pre-registered students.

Intermediate Robotics: (Ages 10-17) Thursdas, November, 2, 6:15-7:45 pm. Students who have successfully completed our beginners’ program work on more complicated projects with the aid of our mentors. This class is for pre-registered students. 

Baby & Me: (Ages 18 months and under) Friday, November 3, 10:00 am. Enjoy special time with your baby while you listen to stories, sing songs, and learn finger plays, followed by a play session. 

Tween Chess Club: (Ages 9-12) Friday, November 3, 4:00-5:30 pm. Develop chess skills by playing with your friends. Beginners and advanced players welcome.
