Celebrate July: Park and Recreation Month
Public parks and recreation centers are the foundation of so many experiences and memories – moments that parks and recreation professionals help make happen. Our local parks are often where people have their first experiences in nature, an introduction to a favorite hobby, or physical activity. They are places to gather with friends and family, spaces to celebrate life’s special moments, spots of respite and healing, sites that connect us with essential community services, and so much more. Local parks and recreation centers have been essential throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year’s theme for Park and Recreation Month is “Our Park and Recreation Story.” We’re going to highlight the stories of how our community is strong, vibrant, and resilient because of parks and recreation, and we want to hear your story about what local parks and recreation mean to you!
You can share your pictures, stories, or experiences at Safety Harbor’s parks on social media using #SHParkAndRecStory. The Leisure Services Department will use your photos and stories in future articles, magazines, and social media posts. Be sure to follow along at Facebook.com/SafetyHarborRecreation.
You can also share your memories while giving us feedback on what you’d like to see in the future from the Safety Harbor Leisure Services Department by taking our short survey at: CityOfSafetyHarbor.com/LeisureNeeds.
