2nd Annual Flamingo Fundraiser
March 9 - April 14
We are seeking artists to donate and decorate an artsy plastic flamingo. Flamingos are due at the library by Wednesday, March 8. Visit the SHPL Foundation website for artist applications & full info. For an easy way to create a flamingo, sign up for a slot at the flamingo painting party on March 3, 6:00pm. Cost is $25, all supplies included. Beginning March 9 through April 14, enter to win your favorite flamingo. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six.

Flamingo Painting Party Fundraiser

Make and take an artsy flamingo. Cost is $25 each, which includes one flamingo and all materials to decorate it. Sign up for a slot here. Walk-ins are welcome as space and materials permit.

Vellamo Concert – Folk Tunes from Finland
Wednesday, March 15, 6:30pm
Join us for a Finnish folk concert featuring Pia Leinonen and Joni Tiala. Their music is characterized by haunting melodies, Pia’s ethereal lead vocals and Joni’s virtuosic guitar stylings. Based in Kokkola, on the western coast of Finland, Vellamo combines the rich tradition of Finnish folksong with an appealing ‘retro’ sensibility, creating a modern folk music experience.
Introduction to Ukulele – Advanced Beginner Workshop

Take your ukulele skills up a notch. Learn all about the different Ukulele sizes, how to hold, strum, and play a few chords. TBUS musicians will teach attendees additional songs and strumming techniques. If you have a ukulele please bring it. If you don't TBUS will have a limited number of ukuleles available at the workshop.
The Grapefruit Project

Adorn, paint, or decorate wooden disks to resemble a grapefruit for the City of Safety Harbor’s public art piece. Once decorated, the grapefruits will be placed on display with an unveiling taking place on June 17th, the City’s 100th birthday. There is no cost, but registration is required and space is limited. Old Fashioned Tupperware Party

SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) provides free, unbiased and confidential health insurance counseling through a network of volunteer counselors. They can assist you with your Medicare, Medicaid, and health insurance questions. All ages welcome. Sign up online.
AARP Driver Safety Course

Gain the skills and tools you need to drive safely on today's roads. The cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-members. The fee is payable by check only (made out to AARP Safe Driver) and due at the start of the class onsite. All age drivers are welcome.
