Woodcarving
Learn the fascinating art of wood carving, including relief, in the round, and chip carving. Additional material fees of $10 paid directly to instructor. No class on 11/11, 11/25.

Watercolor Wonders
Techniques of watercolor painting to experience the magic and versatility of the medium. We will stimulate the imagination and invite creativity. All levels welcome. Be sure to pick up your supply list.

Tuesdays 8/9-11/22 | 1-3pm | Ages: 14-Adult | $60/person (for a 4 week session)

Zen Brush Art
Come discover the art of Zen Brush painting. Learn what kind of brush, ink, paper and technique to use. Drop in: $16 or monthly $64

Tuesdays 10/4-12/20 | 10am-12pm | Ages: Adults | $64/person (based on a 4 week session)

Drawing Basics
A graphite pencil drawing class. Learn to draw basic objects and textures. Lessons with still life set ups and a variety of antique and historical objects at the Museum. A good fundamental skills class. For beginning and intermediate levels.

Mosaics Workshop
Decorate a flower pot with mosaic pieces in this 2 week workshop. Bring your own clay flower pot to decorate. Some materials provided, but you may bring flat pieces of tile, glass, or anything meaningful to incorporate in your personal mosaic.

Jewelry Making
In this three hour workshop with Don Roberts, students will learn many basic techniques needed to create amazing hand-crafted metal jewelry by using hand tools and more. Students will make a beautiful piece of jewelry to take home. Additional $10 fee will be paid directly to the instructor.

Pastels w/ IMI

Explore the beautiful medium of oil pastels. The focus is to learn & develop the basic skills of this lively, lovely, fine art medium. Draw what the teacher is drawing or bring your own pictures for guided assistance. From start to finish a completed work of art in each workshop!

Making Memories at the Museum
Enjoy fun and hands-on crafts at the Museum the 1st Saturday of the month.

Ladies Night Out Wreath Making

Ladies come join us for a night out and design the perfect holiday wreath for your front door. Learn the basics of decorating wreaths - from filler selection to bow-making in this one night workshop. Be sure to pick up your supply list.

Holiday Craft Nite
Families and children are invited to participate in making some REAL FUN holiday crafts at our Museum & Cultural Center. That's right - we supply the crafts, while you get creative!

Learn the tricks to simplify bow tying to make your home and gifts extra special. Materials included.

Cuban Fishing Ranchos in Tampa Bay
Florida Public Archaeology Network presents some of the earliest historic settlements along the Gulf Coast, and how important these early Spanish/Cuban fishing camps were to the development of Tampa Bay.

Girls Just Want to Have Fun
Come in your favorite dress! The night will include, sparkly fingernails, dazzling makeup fun, crafts and lite dinner. You will have a chance to show off your singing abilities and favorite dance moves!

Trip Back In Time
This talk will cover 10,000 Years of History, Mystery, Rumors & Ghosts with Caryl Dennis. You’ll experience a PowerPoint presentation of over 350 pictures and illustrations, as you’re entertained with tales of Tocobaga Indians, pirates, ancient burial mounds, 6,000 year old artifacts, Spanish Conquistadors, pioneers, grapefruit, segregation, hurricanes, fires, “Whisky Harbor,” stories of healing from our history-drenched five mineral springs, celebrities, the mob, Ghosts, Swamp Apes, UFOs and so much more.

The First Thanksgiving in Florida: St. Augustine, 1565
Florida Public Archaeology Network presents this family friendly presentation that discusses the first contact between European explorers and Native Americans in what is now Florida, as well as the real story of the first Thanksgiving in St. Augustine.
